Happy Memorial Day!  Enjoy the long weekend.



This is the LAST blog for the year.  All other communications will be sent via email.

Next Tuesday at 2:00 is the Honors Assembly.  Please join us if you can.

Next Wednesday is Red Shirt Uniform day.  Please have your son or daughter wear a red shirt for an all school photo.  It is also the last day for uniforms.


On June 7, we will be heading to LaserTag Adventure World for the end of the year field trip.  Each student must have a waiver filled out online.  Please see below the link:

Mr. Bradford

Reading  
This week we will complete Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli.  There will be a culminating final written project with it.  

Science

We will look at the weather.    Did you know that there have been over 300 tornados in the U.S. so far this year?  WI has already had one tornado.

Start robitics and a bit of programinng.

Social Studies

The test on Chapter 7 is postponed again to Tuesday, May 22, because I gave the 4th graders an extra 3 days to work on their ABC books. They received a study guide about 2 weeks ago on chapter 7, and I will review with them on Monday, May 21. The ABC books were due on Friday, May 18. We started the project on February 13. 


Math

We continue in our Algebra unit.  We will solve one step equations including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.  We will manipulation whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.  Sounds like a great way to explore algebra while reviewing number computations. 

Language Arts/Writing

We have sent the letters and are starting to get a bit of feedback from the colleges. This next week we will work on our "I am" poems.

Religion

Still working on the Holly Sirit in our lives.

4B Mrs. Kuhnmuench


Reading
  This week we should complete Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli.  There will be a culminating final written project with it.  I am hoping to watch the movie during our pizza party next Friday.
  
 They are working on comprehension, context clues and literary elements of plot throughout the novel.  There are various themes throughout this book, racial prejudice, family, friendship, survival...we will discuss and work with them all.

Vocabulary:  Unit 16 Vocabulary book, test Thursday.  Books will go home to study the night before.
Writing:  
Persuasive argument:  Students will defend their point of view of whether the Titanic Should the Titanic be left on the ocean floor to rest in peace or should it be brought up and restored.  They will read both sides, watch Robert Ballard's argument and create their personal persuasive paragraph.


Religion
 We began our last religion unit, Morality, Our Lived Faith.
